Who Do You Call When the Lights Go Out?
The Big Picture. You can choose your energy supplier
light bulb graphicIf the lights go out due to a storm or other damage, you should call your electric distribution company. Regardless of which energy supplier you choose, your electric distribution company will continue to be responsible for the actual delivery of electricity to your home or business - and for repairs when the power goes out. This is the same company that used to provide all your electric service. These companies are still regulated by the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission. As always, should a condition exist which you believe is unsafe, you should contact your local electric distribution company immediately. If you still have concerns after speaking with your electric distribution company, you should then contact the Public Utilities Commission at 1-800-852-3793.
