Evaluate Your Energy OptionsEnvironmental Impact.
The energy choices we make impact the environment. If your business is environmentally focused, you may wish to select an energy supplier that uses generation sources considered more environmentally friendly. To help you evaluate claims by suppliers about the environmental impact of their energy portfolio, work is underway to require energy suppliers to disclose to you the fuel used to produce their energy (e.g., coal, gas, nuclear, hydro, etc.) as well as the air pollution levels of their energy sources. Conserving energy is the best way to reduce your electric bill and also help the environment by reducing pollution. You may want to look for an energy supplier that offers energy efficiency programs as part of its contract to help your business conserve energy. For more information on how your choices affect air quality and the environment, call the Governor's Office of Energy and Community Services at 271-2611, the Dept. of Environmental Services at 271-3503 or your energy supplier.
